Kinetic study of the adsorption of pollutants using adsorbents produced from agroindustrial wastes

Project Details

Description

At present, water pollution due to the presence of pollutants, such as dyes and inorganic oxyanions, is one of the most important problems, since it is related to the continuous discharge of wastewater from different processes in the sector industrial. the presence of these pollutants in water currents leads to problems such as the reduction of the self-purification capacity of rivers and lakes, causing; to the deterioration of aquatic ecosystems. for this reason, today the industries that generate such waste must comply with increasingly strict regulations.

Objective

Study the kinetics of adsorption of contaminants in continuous systems, using low-cost adsorbents obtained from agroindustrial wastes.

Expected results

An accepted article and one submitted to type a1 magazine. technological innovation capabilities it is expected with the execution of this research proposal to contribute to the development of a research area of ??great interest to the country, such as the topic of industrial wastewater treatment in the textile, paper, plastics and food sectors, all of them of great commercial impact. strengthening of the scientific community. the group will be strengthened with the inclusion of a professional, who had experience in her doctoral training in the synthesis and characterization of materials through the use of several instrumental analysis techniques, which is consistent with the needs of the research topics that are coming developing within the group. paper presented to the university community about the partial results of the research.
