Description

This project proposes to study two television productions of different aspects and, above all, of different nationalities with regard to production, with the aim of elucidating whether there are some stylistics or ways of doing conditioned by the narrator, by the origin of their creators or because of the proximity of the facts treated in that fiction. the intention is to find out if colombia and the united states really have different ways of telling the stories (and if so, what are these differences), if the nationality necessarily determines the way of narrating, the staging and the sound landscape of the productions. and, also very important, the reflection of the reality they illustrate, their interpretation. for this we will study the two series from the message itself, from the image emitted, not from the elements of production, which we will take into account starting point but which we will then replace with its immediate audiovisual reflection. that which the viewer sees and hears, that which escapes the power of the creators. we will analyze, through our own methodology, those two audiovisual works under four parameters: the formal or staging elements, the sound elements, the narrative aspects concerning the script and the way of dealing with the reality that serves as the context and the facts that they surround the story. in addition, through the presence of european researchers, the external reading of the facts and their audiovisual reflections will be addressed.

Objective

Analyze the two series to determine if at the time of telling the same story there are substantial aesthetic and narrative differences according to the nationality of the productions and of what nature these divergences are (something also applicable to analogies), all aimed at establishing the parameters of what we might call a "national identity of the image".
