In recent years, the study of the social impacts of hydroelectric projects and the response of companies have taken new benchmarks (gobel and ulloa 2014; cuervo sotelo 2012), including inequality and environmental impacts as issues to be taken into account. one of the topics that have been most worked on has been the biopolitical and eco-territorial effects of the extractive projects (quiroga 2016; buitrago 2014; sánchez garcía 2014; cabrera leal and fierro morales 2013), as well as the way in which social change and economic has been channeled through the interactions between public institutions, communities and companies that operate energy projects, emerging a new regulatory regime that has affected the concept of territory at the local level (diaz ayure 2014; sañudo et al . 2016; abreo carrillo et al. 2011). this regulatory regime is what would be known as socio-spatial governance. in the contexts in which the extractive process takes place in colombia, they are generally marked by several socio-political elements: the apparent weakness of the state from the perspective of rights; the lack of economic diversification; and finally the territorial control that the company achieves with the support of the state (svampa and antonelli 2009). the governance of the extractive project implies both the adaptation of local uses to the new productive demands and the necessary coupling of business needs to the territorial and social context in which the economic project is being developed (rutherford 2011). the possibilities of management and mediation of possible conflicts make it necessary to understand governance as a horizon of action where a vision is always projected on a desired future both for the community and for the economic project in that territory (roa avendaño 2014).
Analyze the relationship between governance and corporate sustainability through a multiple case study to identify the importance of multilevel factors in the long-term operation of hydroelectric power plants in the departments of caldas and antioquia.
