Interpretation and recreation of the source and wave transmission models of seismology

Project Details

Description

Although seismology and seismic engineering study the same phenomenon, earthquakes, their objectives are different. the first is interested in the characterization and description of the phenomenon with a view to achieving future models

Objective

Evaluate the possibility of transferring and adapting models used in seismology to describe the process of occurrence of earthquakes and transmission of seismic waves, to seismic risk assessment schemes and methodologies

Expected results

A better estimate of the seismic threat ultimately results in designs and engineering projects more successful and adjusted to the real demands to which they are subjected.
