Optimization of a methodology of quantitative evaluation of risk by movements in mass

Project Details

Description

The present project proposes the estimation of geotechnical risk by mass movements triggered by earthquakes and rains using a platform of geographic information systems (gis). to do this, a model is proposed that considers the topographic, geological, geotechnical and hydrological characteristics of some study areas in colombia and brazil.

Objective

Implement a quantitative risk analysis methodology for mass movements that considers the travel trajectory of landslides, the effect of infiltration and the fragility of structures.

Expected results

This research will allow to incorporate quantitative risk assessment by mass movements, variables such as the effect of rainfall, travel distances of mass movements, the fragility of typical housing structures in urban environments and the variability of costs. in the estimate of damages.
