Resumen
This article provides a state-of-the-art survey of the current use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) in warehouse management and their application in the Colombian industry. This review establishes that warehouse management technologies contribute simplifying operations, reducing costs, and improving the flow of information. It also acknowledges that the main obstacles for their implementation are: high costs, organizational culture, and an unsuitable structure of warehouse management processes. This article also discusses some studies that show that ICTs in Colombia have a low implementation level at Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs), and an intermediate implementation level at large companies.
