This article shows an analysis of the relationship between classroom practices, academic performance and indicators of efficiency and educational quality in the municipality of Santa Fe de Antioquia, framed in educational policies of the Ministry of National Education about School Efficiency. we applied focus group techniques, documentary review to compare results of internal and external tests, and class observations. The results showed a low academic performance influenced by context and classroom practices.
